Advanced Placement Exam Information for OHS Students
It is now time to purchase Advanced Placement (AP) Exams. AP Exams are students' opportunity to show what they know and what they can do. Taken each May (May 5 - May 15, 2014) by students all over the world, the AP exam is the final step students take after a year of hard work in their AP class. These standardized exams are designed to measure how well students have mastered the content and skills of the course -- a successful score could even earn students credit and advanced placement in college.
•March 17th – March 21st: students may purchase their AP exam(s) during their AP class.
•March 24th – March 28th: students may purchase their AP exam(s) during the mornings (7:30 am-7:50 am), break, lunch, or after school (until 3:30 pm).
To purchase an AP exam(s), students must bring the completed 2014 AP Exam Registration Order Form and payment to Ms. Anzures in the main office. Students must have their school ID at the time of payment. Payments are to be made by cash, money order, or check (payable to Orange High School) with the student's full name and student ID in the memo section.
Each AP exam will cost $89. If you are currently on the free/reduced lunch program you qualify for the fee reduced price of $5 for each AP Exam ordered. Please note that students who are on the free/reduced lunch program must see Ms. Schmitz in room 101 to obtain a Fee Waiver for AP Exams slip. If you are NOT on the free/reduced program, review the AP Eligibility Criteria for Fee Reductions handout. If the AP student's family's income does not exceed the amount listed in the appropriate row and column, the student qualifies for a College Board fee reduction and is eligible to pay $5 for each AP Exam ordered. However, we encourage you to pay what you can afford above the $5 as all additional monies will go directly to the Orange High School Advanced Placement Program.
If you DO NOT meet either of the fee reduction requirements, you may choose to pay the full amount of $89 per AP exam at the time of registration or sign up for the payment plan listed below. Please note that the first payment of $20 is non-refundable.
Payment Plan:
1st payment: March 17-28: $20/per AP exam ordered
2nd payment: April 11: $34/per AP exam ordered
3rd payment: May 9: $35/per AP exam ordered
Refund Policy:
• If a student registers for the AP exam and cancels before March 28th, 2014, a full refund will be issued.
• If a student registers for the AP exam and cancels after March 28th, 2014, there will be a $20 cancellation fee per AP exam.
